Privacy,
without the fog.

PowerNapTime works without an account, advertising, tracking, analytics, or a developer-operated app cloud service.

1. The short version

PowerNapTime does not send the developer your nap history, notes, preferences, microphone input, motion readings, heart-rate samples, or Apple Health data. The app has no account system, advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or tracking technology.

Data collected by the developer through the appNone.

2. Information stored on your devices

Nap times, planned and actual rest duration, wake reason, refreshed rating, optional notes, preferences, and active-session recovery data are stored locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. The app uses this information to run your nap, restore an interrupted session, show history, and calculate on-device trends.

This local data remains until you delete it in PowerNapTime, remove the app, or erase it through Apple’s device and backup controls. Normal iCloud device backups may include app data according to your Apple backup settings; the developer cannot access or control those backups.

3. Apple Health

If you choose to connect Apple Health, PowerNapTime can read sleep analysis to show historical stage information and can write a completed nap when you enable that option. Health access is optional and the timer remains useful when you decline it.

Apple Health data is processed on your device. It is not sent to the developer, used for advertising or marketing, sold, shared with data brokers, or used to build a profile. Historical sleep stages displayed by the app come from their original Apple Health source; PowerNapTime does not clinically classify sleep stages.

4. Microphone, motion, and heart rate

When you enable iPhone Smart Wake, microphone input is converted on-device into short-lived numerical features associated with movement in the room. Audio is not recorded, saved, or transmitted. Those temporary features are discarded when sensing ends.

When you use Apple Watch Smart Wake, motion and an optional fresh heart-rate sample are processed on the Watch during the final wake window. These readings are not sent to the developer. The Watch and iPhone exchange active nap state through Apple’s Watch Connectivity system.

5. Retention, deletion, and your choices

You can delete all locally stored nap history under Settings → Your data → Delete Nap History. Optional notes are deleted with their nap records. You can revoke microphone and notification permission in iOS Settings and manage Apple Health access or delete Health samples in the Health app. Disabling a permission stops the related optional feature; the core timer remains available.

Because the developer does not receive your app data, there is no developer-held account or app dataset to retrieve or delete. Removing the app deletes its local data subject to Apple-controlled backup behavior.

6. Website and support

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not offer an account or contact form. Like most hosting providers, the infrastructure delivering the site may process basic request information such as an IP address, browser type, and time of access for delivery, reliability, and security under the provider’s terms.

If you choose the external GitHub support link, GitHub processes information you submit under its own privacy policy. Do not include health records or other sensitive personal information in a public support request.

7. Children, security, and policy changes

PowerNapTime is a general wellness utility intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. Because app information stays under Apple’s device protections and is not transmitted to the developer, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

We may update this policy if the product or legal requirements change. A material update will be posted here with a new effective date before the changed practices apply where required.
